FAQ
1. What is SexyFoodie and how does it work?
SexyFoodie is a food delivery business for students living in student halls. We are a student run company founded by a UCL student who is absolutely too lazy to cook his dinner meals in his hall. Not only that, he is also too lazy to make the short walk out of hall to get some food or to order takeaway pizza with some friends. Because we are students, we know it is important that we get a well-cooked meal at an affordable price. Thus SexyFoodie is bringing you £5 dinner meals delivered right to the doorstep of your hall at 7pm daily.
2. Is this a joke?
Absolutely not! This is a business that we are launching here in UCL and we have also registered a Limited company to show our seriousness in this! We want to make this our career once we graduate and help create jobs for others. :)
3. Why SexyFoodie then? You sound like a, ermm porn website?
‘Coz we are sexay, babeh! Duh! No, seriously, we like the word Sexy cause it sounds cool to us. So live with it peeps!
4. Ok, for some serious matter now. What do you serve and how do I place an order?
Check out our menu on the tab on the left of this website. Click on the Order tab to place an order for delivery to your hall at a specific date. We do delivery everyday to Astor College at 7pm with the menu listed on the website. So start ordering now!
5. I am not sure of my schedule. When is the latest that I can order for my dinner meal?
We take orders for delivery up till 3pm every day. After that you cannot place an order for delivery on the same day.
6. I need to cancel my order. How should I do it?
If it’s before 3pm, you may cancel your order for the day by emailing order {at} sexyfoodie.co.uk with the subject “Cancellation of Order”. Include your name and hall in the email. If it is after 3pm, we are unable to cancel your order because the restaurant would have received the order for the day and start preparing the meals. You are liable to pay the £5 cost of the meal.
7. I placed my order but now I cannot collect my meal at 7pm. What should I do?
If it’s before 3pm, you may cancel your order using the method described above. If it’s after 12pm, you may get a friend to collect your meal from the hall rep. We will only give the meal to your friend at 7.15pm after we are certain that you are not coming down to collect your meal. If you are unable to nominate a friend, you may come to the room of the hall rep to collect your meal later in the evening. However, there is no guarantee that you may get your meal because the hall rep might be out partying!
8. I am not living in halls. Can I still order?
Yes! Anyone can order meals from SexyFoodie. However you need to collect your meal from the hall rep at the hall that you choose at 7pm. We are not planning to do delivery to individual homes. However if you live in a student hall that is not associated with a university, we will hopefully come by to your hall soon. Shout us a line and get all your friends to drop us a line at info {at} sexyfoodie.co.uk and we will come to your hall soon!
9. I am not living in Astor College. When are you coming to my hall?
Very soon! We are looking to provide weekend meals in Ramsay in the next couple of weeks and then expand to other UCL halls located near UCL before going to the ones near Camden, Russell Square, King’s Cross.
10. I am not studying in UCL. When are you coming to my university?
Soon! Once this idea takes off in UCL we will expand to other London universities before going to the rest of the UK. If you really want us to come to your university first, shout us a line and get all your friends to drop us a line at info {at} sexyfoodie.co.uk and we will prioritise coming to your university!
11. When will you be accepting online payment?
We are working on our IT solutions to accept online payment soon. Until that happens, kindly bring down a fiver when you come outside your hall to collect your meal. And don’t give us £5 worth of coins! We hate coins and someone thought it would be amusing to give us a handful worth of coins one night!
12. What sort of food do you serve?
We have Italian, Indian, Chinese, Thai and English food on our menu. Check out our menu tab on the left for more information.
13. Who cooks the food?
All our food comes from restaurants located nearby the student halls. For the first few UCL halls, we will be getting our food supply from Anwar’s Restaurant located just behind Ramsay Hall. More details are available on the Restaurant tab on the left. Don’t worry, it’s not some student cooking your dinner meals. We won’t wanna eat such dinner meals if it’s not cook by professional chefs either!
14. Who’s the hot lady and the nerdy boy on the front page?
The hot lady is a fictional character named Anna Ivanov. She is a first year UCL undergraduate from Russia doing History of Art. The nerdy boy is another fictional character named Johnny Thompson. He is also a first year UCL undergraduate from Newcastle doing Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Anna is this hot blonde bombshell who just feels mad that her course is filled with girls while Johnny is this nerdy boy who is not so smooth in getting the girls. And it doesn’t help that his course has the highest male-to-female ratio in UCL. E&E Engineering has 6.2 males to every female student. We are not creating statistics out of thin air. Go check out the UCL Statistics here if you don’t believe us!
